Cosmetic surgery: Breast Implants
This plastic surgery aims to increase breast size or volume after weight loss or breastfeeding.
Who is it recommended for?
We recommend it for women with small breast size, usually of conformational origin (primary mammary hypoplasia); after breastfeeding (secondary mammary hypoplasia) or due to weight loss (secondary hypoplasia).
How is the procedure performed?
Surgery involves the introduction of a silicone prosthesis under the mammary gland or behind the pectoral muscle.
The access route (positioning of the scars) can be through:
• The inframammary fold.
• Around the areola.
• The axillary region.
How many formats of silicone breast implants exist?
Silicone breast implants can be round with low, moderate and high profiles; as well as anatomical with low, moderate and high profiles (pear or drop).
What should I expect during my breast implant surgery recovery?
→ A 1-day hospital inpatient stay is required.
In many cases, the patient is discharged on the same day.
→ During the first 30 days, dressing and compression bandages will be changed in the clinic.
→ Physical activities such as driving and practicing sports are prohibited for 4 weeks. (Gradual permissions)
→ Avoid sun exposure for 3 months.
→ The definitive shape and volume will appear from 3 to 6 months after surgery.
