Hi, I'm Marcelo Sampaio.

My name is Marcelo, I come from a big family of doctors. My father was an anesthesiologist and my great-great-grandfather, the oldest ancestor of which I am aware, graduated from the Bahia School of Surgery in 1859. 

And with such family background, I have always been related to the medical field. I had the opportunity to learn different medical specialties and be delighted with each one of them in college and during my residency in General Surgery at the Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP). I even considered becoming a pediatrician, a cardiologist, and a digestive surgeon, but the specialty that called my attention the most was plastic surgery. 

I was amazed by the possibility of restoring, reconstructing, and embellishing. I completed my residency in Plastic Surgery at the Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine (USP) from 1995 to 1998 and I began to perform the first procedures afterwards.

Since then, it has been over 20 years of career experience and 4,000 stories that I have been able to hear, understand and transform, something that I value very much. Throughout this journey, I had the privilege of coordinating the philanthropic project of breast plastic surgery at the Mastology Center of the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital for 12 years and get to know different realities. 

In addition to working with patients, I dedicate valuable time to studies, conferences, seminars, and courses. In 2012, I earned a Master of Science degree at USP, after my thesis defense on female breast sensitivity.
