Facial Contouring

Facelift surgery or rhytidectomy is a procedure that seeks to soften the signs of aging on the face and neck. This procedure aims to increase muscle tone and reduce wrinkles in the area to give the face a more youthful appearance and define its contour.

Who is it recommended for?

This procedure applies to non-smokers and physically healthy individuals who are not satisfied with the signs of ageing.

In which cases is a facelift or rhytidectomy recommended?

Facelift surgery is recommended for treating:

  • Skin laxity of the face.

  • The folds under the eyelids and around the eyes.

  • Deep creases and wrinkles along the nose that may extend to the corner of the mouth.

  • Fat that has dropped toward the jawline, by relocating it and making the cheekbones protrude.

  • Weakened muscle tone in the lower part, eliminating a double chin and vertical banding on the neck and defining its contour.

  • Skin laxity and excess fat that is deposited under the chin and jaw.

How is the procedure performed?

Facelift requires hospitalization and is performed with sedation or general anesthesia (depending on each patient). It can also be performed along with other procedures for an even better result. Here are some options that may vary depending on the degree of intervention desired:

→ Traditional Lift;

→ Limited incision lift;

→ Neck lift.

What should I expect during my facelift recovery?

→ A bandage is placed around the face to minimize swelling and bruising.

→ In some cases, a temporary drain may be placed under the skin.

→ Following the recommendations is critical to the success of the surgery.

→ It is important that the incisions are not subjected to excessive force, swelling, abrasion, or movement during the healing period.
