Tummy Tuck
Abdominoplasty or abdominal dermolipectomy is a procedure that aims to remove excess skin and accumulated fat in the abdominal region, as well as to strengthening the muscles.
Who is it recommended for?
This surgery is recommended mainly for women who have already had children or have lost a lot of weight, as it removes excess skin and fat from the treated area. With this procedure it is possible to restore separated abdominal muscles after pregnancy, leaving you with a firmer stomach.
How is the procedure performed?
Tummy tuck surgery (abdominoplasty) can be performed using 3 different techniques:
Classic: the entire abdomen (above and below the belly button).
Mini-abdominoplasty: lower part of the abdomen, below the belly button.
Lipoabdominoplasty: classical technique with localized fat liposuction.
How long does this procedure take?
2 to 3 hours, then a 1-day hospital inpatient stay is required before discharge. Tummy tuck surgery can be performed under general or epidural anesthesia, always in a hospital.
What should I expect during the tummy tuck recovery?
During the first 30 days, dressing and compression bandages will be changed in the clinic each week.
→ Physical activity is prohibited in the first post-operative month.
→ Avoid sun exposure for 3 months.
→ The use of compression garments and lymphatic drainage is recommended.
